I can tell you that I’ve used the technique of visualizing to achieve many of my goals in life, and I still do it daily.
There’s a famous phrase, “You’ve got to see it to believe it.” Well I remember hearing this quote by the late, great, Wayne Dyer, who said the truth is actually, “You’ve got to believe it to see it.”
Meaning if you can believe in your mind that you’ll achieve success as a filmmaker, and you visualize whatever your definition of success it, you will get to your goal.
The Process of Visualizing
Okay, so here’s what you need to do. First, you need to be very clear with your goals. What are they? Be specific as possible, and also put a time goal on there as well.
Meaning, in the process of visualizing, you start with something like this:
“I will get my movie made within 12 months.”
Now you have to write that on paper. Sometimes I even frame it and hang it directly in front of my line of vision on the wall behind my desk.
Next, you should write a visualization of how things will be while you’ve achieved that goal. Make it as specific as possible. What are you wearing? Who are you with? Or you on set? Or on a red carpet? Tell a little story.
This story you should read to yourself once a week. The other visualization (the initial one) you should read daily!
And then, sooner or later you’ll hit your goal!

The key is, you have to take action and do this. The process of visualization unlocks the law of attraction, and whether you believe it or not, you’ll see spectacular results.
Good luck! – Tom
