If you’re looking to grow a successful film producing career, I can tell you that visualization is essential. I’ve used visualization to achieve many of my goals in life, and I still do it daily. I think you can achieve anything you want if you truly set your mind to it. And it all starts with beliefs.
There’s a famous phrase: “You’ve got to see it to believe it.” I remember hearing this quote by the late, great Wayne Dyer. He said that the truth is actually: “You’ve got to believe it to see it.” Meaning if you can believe in your mind that you’ll achieve a successful film producing career, odds are good you’ll do the necessary work to achieve your goal.

If you want something enough and think it is possible, you can make it happen. But if you think something is impossible, it probably won’t happen. What you believe, you can achieve. I’ve experienced this truth first hand. When I started the film business, I forced myself to visualize what I wanted to happen. Over time I believed having a film producing career was possible. That belief led me to take action. And those actions eventually led to results.
There are a few things you need to do to achieve your goals. First, be very clear about what they are and be as specific as possible. Also, put a time limit on it! Once you have a good idea of what you want, imagine yourself achieving success in your film producing career. And in the process of visualizing, start with something like this:
“I will make my movie within the next year.”
Now you have to write it down. Then put your goal in a frame and hang it directly in your line of sight. Maybe on the wall behind your desk? Next, you should write how things will look once you’ve achieved your goal. Make it as specific as possible. What are you wearing? Who are the people with you? Are you on a movie set? Or are you on a red carpet?
Tell a little story. The more specific you are, the better. Once you complete the level of your film producing career, you should read to yourself every single day, once in the morning and once before bed. The more you visualize, the better chance you will achieve your goal. As simple as it sounds, visualization works!
